    Description

This core facility provides Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) services for UTSW investigators. We currently have one Illumina HiSeq 2500, one Illumina HiSeq 2000 and two Lifetech SOLID 5500XL sequencers.
We currently accept samples for whole genome sequencing (WGS), transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq), chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing (ChIP-Seq), and targeted re-sequencing (exome capture, for example). We will accept your pre-made libraries or purified DNA, RNA and make the libraries for you. After sequencing your samples we provide assistance with data analysis. We currently have four technicians making libraries and three bioinformaticists to aid with data analysis.
Our turn around times varies between 5 days for pre-made libraries with very short read lengths and minimal data analysis to over three months for complex samples with long read lengths and extensive data analysis requirements
