Abstract

(Formula presented) A wide spectrum of alcohols and phenols are readily transformed to the corresponding 2-tetrahydrofuranyl ethers in good to excellent yields using CrCl₂ and CCl₄ in THF under nearly neutral conditions at room temperature.
