Abstract

The results of a modified Maquet tibial tubercle osteotomy are reported. A lateral incision incorporating advancement of the tibialis anterior to relieve skin tension is used. Twenty-seven patients have completed questionnaires on functional outcome. Twenty-five patients would undergo the procedure again and reported satisfactory outcome as measured by a functional knee score. Postoperative complications included a distal fracture of the shingle in nine patients. There were no wound complications.
