Acute and chronic traumatic cartilage injuries of the knee

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Traumatic articular cartilage injuries to the knee are common and associated with more than half of knee arthroscopies. Although typically located in the medial compartment, acute and chronic cartilage injuries have variable and perhaps an unclear natural history. Predictable chondral injuries are seen with associated injuries to the knee including an anterior cruciate ligament tear and a patellar dislocation.
