Abstract

Analysis of the left ventricular function requires accurate evaluation of segmental left ventricular wall motion. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with magnetic tagging provides a means of determining absolute myocardial wall motion by labeling the myocardium. Manual analysis of the images is not only time consuming, but also suffers from human errors related to fatigue. In this paper we present a method to automatically track the motion of the left ventricular wall using grid-tagged MR images.
