Abstract

With the increase in diabetic foot ulcers throughout the population, there is an increased interest in advanced wound products to improve the rate of healing. Bioengineered alternative tissues are making great advances in this area of research and in clinical practice. Many products are now available that have shown great promise in improving the rate of healing and thus improving limb salvage in challenging diabetic patients.
