In summary, we have shown that acute BV pacing decreases the inducibility of sustained monomorphic VT in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy. However, its effect on ventricular fibrillation remains unclear. Long-term BV pacing may diminish the need for antitachycardia therapy in patients with implantable defibrillators and may have an impact on mortality in patients with congestive heart failure.
