Abstract

Gas-liquid chromatography of hydrolysates of highly purified human placental alkaline phosphatase (orthophosphoric-monoester phosphohydrolase, EC 3.1.3.1) demonstrated the presence of monosaccharide residues, mannose, galactose, glucose and fucose. This enzyme, therefore, is a sialoglycoprotein.
