Abstract

The paper discusses the conditions of adequacy of the description by means of a single-jump model of the transfer of the relaxational process in thin membranes for high polarizing voltages. An analysis is made of the slow relaxation for the scheme of ionic transport across the bilayers with slow reactions of the conformational conversion of ions in the volume of the membrane. It is shown that characteristic of such a mechanism of transport is the difference in the values of the transfer coefficients determined from the results of steady and nonsteady measurements. For slow rates of the conformational reactions the time dependence of the current is of an extremal character. The results allow generalization to the case of transfer through the membrane channels the mouths of which do not possess a barrier function for the transport of ions.
