Abstract

Concomitant and sequential adenoviru[ill] and Mycoplasma pneumoniae infectio[ill] was verified by serologic tests in a family with primary atypical pneumonia syndrome The 7-year-old child developed massive pleu ral effusion, and adenovirus type 7 was iso lated from pleural fluid. The child recovere[ill] but has had recurrence of pulmonary symp toms and residual radiological abnormalities.
