Corneal involvement in methylmalonic aciduria

Abstract

Eye involvement has not previously been reported in MMA. A case with pathologic studies is presented; the patient developed bilateral central corneal epithelial defects one week before death. The cause was felt to be keratoconjunctivitis sicca secondary to alacrima.
