Abstract

Our research paper entitled “A mixed-effects model approach for the statistical analysis of vocal fold viscoelastic shear properties” has been published in the Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, volume 75, November 2017, pages 477–485. In the article, there were errors in Eqs. (1) and (2) but not in the actual computations of the results. The corrected equations are listed below [Formula presented] where β 0 is the intercept, β 1j and β 2 are regression coefficients for the fixed effects, u i is the random effect, and e ijk is the error term. [Formula presented] where β 0 is the intercept, β 1j , β 2 and β 3j are regression coefficients for the two fixed effects and their interaction term, u i is the random effect, and e ijk is the error term. Also in the left column on Page 479, line 9 from the bottom: G′′ shall be G′. In the left column on Page 484, line 34: “collagen” shall be “collagen type I”. The heading for subsection 3.2 shall be “Viscoelastic shear properties of the rabbit and porcine vocal fold lamina propria”. The authors apologize for the mistakes.
