Abstract

A dual-tuned radiofrequency coil was built for sodium (23Na) and proton (1H) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the breast at 7T. For this purpose a four-channel 23Na receive array and a single-channel transmit 23Na solenoid were built along with a single-channel 1H transmit/receive solenoid. The developed coil, combined with optimized pulse sequences could provide diagnostic information in breast cancer and allow therapy monitoring.
