Abstract

In this chapter we describe our journey discovering the role of androgens and specifically testosterone on urethral regeneration and homeostasis. This translational research project has so far spanned almost a decade and included clinical research, tissue-based research, and animal experiments, both for hypothesis generation and validation as well as developing treatment strategies that we are currently using clinically in our patients.
