Abstract

Bladder cancer carries a significant economic burden to overall healthcare costs. More cost-effective measures are needed to help alleviate the financial strain of bladder cancer. Novel approaches that reduce disease recurrence and progression, and limit severity of complications are imperative to aid with cost containment. Further research evaluating the use of urinebasedmarkers improved cystoscopy, adjuvant therapies and cost-effective surveillance protocolsmay be feasible options to lessen the costs associated with bladder cancer
