Effect of discreteness of charge on the potential distribution in bilayer lipid membranes

Abstract

The potential of discrete charges located in the plane at a certain depth within the membrane is considered. In the approximation of the constant dielectric permeability of the membrane an expression has been found for the micropotential distribution. The case of charges on the membrane surface is separately considered. A refined variant of the method of the cutout disc is developed making it possible with good accuracy to find the potentials from discrete lattices.
