Abstract

A report on the influences of external Gaussian white electric noise parametrically on a subexcitable medium of Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction was presented. It was observed that at an optimal level of noise the wave sources of excited traveling waves became synchronous. The synchronous behavior was found to fade if the noise level becomes larger or smaller. Experiments and numerical simulations showed that noise could induce and sustain wave propagations in a subexcitable medium and the time interval between waves were approximately regular.
