Abstract

Members of the Editorial Board of American Journal of Diseases of Children at their annual meeting in Chicago, April 14, 1969, gave approval to a departure from established publication practice. The project was to be concerned with reprinting articles which after a lapse of time had come to be accepted as classic. Deemed particularly desirable was the republication in English of classical contributions to medical literature available only in a foreign language. The paper which follows represents the third of this series. A.A.W.
