Abstract
A significant number of publications on vesicovaginal fistulas has engendered a better knowledge of the classification, causes and diagnostic procedures for this unfortunate problem. Controversy still remains over the timing of repair, the type of approach and the technical guidelines most likely to prevent their recurrence. In this chapter, we will briefly discuss the diagnosis and preoperative management of vesicovaginal fistulas, and then describe more extensively our transvaginal operative approach for repair of both non-radiated and radiated cases.
