Abstract

The weights of kidneys obtained from 200 presumably normal human abortuses of postconceptional gestational ages between 6 and 17 weeks were measured. The weight of the normal human fetal kidney increases in an exponential manner between 6 and 14 weeks gestation. Thereafter, the rate of increase in weight is slower. No significant differences were found between the weights of kidneys of male and female abortuses of 7-15 weeks postconceptional gestational ages.
