Abstract

The article presents the conceptual scheme of a multichannel combined opto-electrode microimplant, developed by the authors, using the principles of feedback. An algorithm of a neuronal response stimulation and registration with the possibility of adjusting the command signals of an optical source and, optionally, a system for introducing pharmacological preparations is proposed. This device will allow using adaptive optogenetic stimulation autonomously in chronic studies on free-moving animals, and in the long term for the patients' treatment. A detailed description of our proposed process for a combined opto-electrode microimplant (optrod) manufacturing is given in the paper. The main advantage of the development will be the combination of the stimulating and recording parts of the optogenetic system with adaptive adjustment of the light source parameters without a permanent connection of the system with a personal computer. It is supposed to test this system in the future on sections and free-moving animals in the study of the electrophysiological features in the hippocampa! neurons of transgenic mice of various models of neurodegenerative diseases.
