Papulopruritic dermatoses are a frequent initial manifestations of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and are a cause of distress for many patients. Accurate and timely recognition of these conditions will lead to more rapid diagnoses, better targeted therapy, and most importantly, lessening of symptoms.
