Abstract

PENCIL BEAM-BASED DOSE CALCULATION has been widely adopted in modern treatment planning system, because of its simple calculation scheme and acceptable accuracy in most clinical application. This simple and accurate dose calculation model will have extensive applications in online adaptive radiotherapy (ART), where the attractive concept of real-time adaptation of the treatment to daily anatomical variation [1-16] requires extremely fast and accurate dose calculation engines.
