Pneumococcal meningo-encephalitis: An unusual case

A case of pneumococcal meningo-encephalitis is described where initial disability was great, yet recovery surprisingly complete, probably due to glucocorticoid therapy. Confusion of the body image and ataxia persisted to a limited extent, and the mechanisms of these are discussed.
