Abstract

A simple, rapid, and reliable method for radioiodination of glucagon has been described. By this technique, 12 to 28 per cent of the I131 was incorporated in the protein and specific activities of approximately 200 mc. per milligram were obtained. The entire procedure, which could be completed within 4 hours, usually yielded a product 93 to 99 per cent of which was identified chromatographically as undamaged glucagon I131.
