Abstract

A simple, rapid, and reliable method for radioiodination of glucagon has been described. By this technique, 12 to 28 per cent of the I¹³¹ was incorporated in the protein and specific activities of approximately 200 mc. per milligram were obtained. The entire procedure, which could be completed within 4 hours, usually yielded a product 93 to 99 per cent of which was identified chromatographically as undamaged glucagon I¹³¹.
