Abstract
Fine anisotropic powders of NdFe10.5V1.5Nx with (BH)max = 17 MG Oe, Br = 10.6 kG, and HcJ = 4.2 KOe were prepared by optimizing the nitrogenation process and grinding time. The magnetic properties of the powders are very sensitive to the nitrogenation temperature and time and also to the particle size. The temperature stability of NdFe10.5V1.5Nx is better than that of Nd-Fe-B magnets. It was found that NdFe10.5V1.5Nx was a promising candidate for permanent magnet applications.
