Abstract
Fluorescence probes are highly valuable in a variety of fields such as analytical chemistry, clinical biochemistry, medicine, the environment, etc. They provide accurate, on-line, real space, and low-cost detection of analytes with high selectivity and sensitivity. The recent progresses in the field of the boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) derivatives based fluorescence cations probes were reviewed. The developing trends in the future in this field are also discussed.
