Abstract
Although generalized pustular psoriasis triggered by high dose estrogen therapy was reported before, to our knowledge this is the first case in which palmoplantar pustular psoriasis was precipitated by high dose estrogen replacement therapy. A 47-year-old woman presented with palmoplantar pustular psoriasis precipitated by doubling the dose of conjugated estrogens. She had a positive family history for psoriasis. Her lesions improved both with the discontinuation of conjugated estrogens and the addition of antiestrogen therapy, tamoxifen 10 mg/day which later combined with topical steroids. Estrogens can trigger palmoplantar pustular psoriasis and antiestrogen therapy may be helpful in the management.
