Abstract
In the work we consider the pass ge of nerve pulses through a dichotomous branching node of the nerve fibre. For the generation of the nerve pulse we adopt a model developed in previous studies. It is assumed that nerve pulses with a certain delay between them approach the node of branching along two fibres. The aim of the work is to find the conditions in which excitation may overcome the node of branching and run into the third fibre. A connexion has been found between the parameters of all three nerve fibres and the time delay for which excitation of the third nerve fibre is possible. Analytically, it has been shown that excitation occurs more easily the shorter the time delay between the pulses. Comparison has been made with the available experimental findings.
