Abstract
Plate dilution susceptibility studies of 24 strains of Bordetella pertussis and twostrains of B. parapertussis demonstrate low minimal inhibitory concentrations of ampicillin. These data and the results of treatment of one patient indicate that further clinical experience with ampicillin therapy of pertussis would be worthwhile.
