Calcium binding to cardiac troponin and the effect of cyclic AMP dependent protein kinase

Abstract

A typical calcium binding curve for nonphosphorylated cardiac troponin tropomyosin is shown along with skeletal muscle troponin tropomyosin. Analysis of these data by an iterative least squares procedure suggested the presence of a single class of binding sites for the skeletal muscle proteins with a maximum binding of 4 mol Ca2+/mol protein.
