Abstract

The crystal and molecular structure of the title compound is reported. Crystals are trigonal with hexagonal axes, space group P3 with Z = 1 in a unit cell of dimensions a = b= 14.196(7) and c = 9.558(5) Ǻ. The structure was solved by the heavy-atom method and refined by the full-matix least-squares method to R = 0.071 for 1097 unique reflections. The metal atom of the cation has a regular octahedral configuration and the chlorine atoms of the anions have regular tetrahedral configuration. Both the five-and six-membered rings in the antipyrine are planar having an angle of 113° between the normals to their planes.
