Abstract

Although there is little controversy with regard to the benefit of treating infertility caused by moderate or severe endometriosis associated with the distortion of the normal pelvic tube-ovarian relationships, the question of whether to treat the milder forms of the disease is one of the most controversial issues in gynecology. Management of the milder forms of endometriosis by medical treatment, watchful expectancy, operative laparoscopy, ovarian hyperstimulation with and without insemination, and the assisted reproductive technologies are discussed.
