Abstract

These observations show that short-term, disease-free survival is excellent (86.5%) in patients with negative lymph node biopsies, greatly diminished (30%) in patients with positive para-aortic and pelvic lymph node biopsies, and intermediate (71.5%) in patients with positive pelvic lymph node biopsies only in the pelvic region following extended-field radiation therapy of carcinoma of the prostate.
